Program Application
The application for the 2011-2012 Academic Year is now availabe. it is due Friday, June 3, 2011 by 5pm. Please submit it to Courtney Burks.
Eligibility
All Stanford undergraduate and medical students with a strong interest in and commitment to community health are eligible to apply to the Patient Advocacy Program.
Selection Factors
- Background or strong interest in community health
- Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved populations
- Spanish language profeciency
- Commitment to year-long enrollment in MED course.
- Commitment to year-long weekly clinic shifts (3-6 hours)
Application Guidelines
If you are interested in applying, these are some important steps to take:
- Attend Informational Session on May 26, 12 pm, in Old Union, Room 200. Program Directors and student participants will be present to answer questions and provide more information about the Program.
- Carefully review program description and application materials.
- Submit completed application by June 3, 5 pm, to cburks@stanford.edu.
- References
The program requires contact information for two references. These should be professionals who can assess your personal and professional qualities (TA’s, employers, professors, mentors/advisors, etc).
Application Timeline
5/26/11: Program Information Session, 5 pm, in MSOBx303.
6/3/11: Applications due by 5 pm.
